Know the slab underneath.
Share the age of the concrete if known, existing sealers or coatings, repairs, joints, staining, and any moisture history. The required evaluation and testing follow the proposed system and site conditions. A clean-looking slab does not by itself establish coating readiness.
Specify what the floor will face.
Foot traffic, carts, vehicles, cleaning chemicals, spills, sunlight, and wet areas place different demands on a finish. Discuss texture alongside cleaning and slip-resistance requirements. No floor should be described as slip-proof, and appearance alone does not establish suitability.
Allow the whole system its time.
Surface preparation, repairs, each coating layer, and return to traffic all affect the closure window. Ask for a system-specific schedule under the expected conditions. A fast-curing component does not establish an installation time for the entire project.
